Night Skies

Do you struggle to get to sleep at night, or wake frequently during the night?

Would you like more refreshing sleep?

Have your sleep problems lasted for more than 3 months?

If so you may have clinical insomnia and I can help!

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a specialist treatment specifically designed to resolve clinical insomnia.  It works by both challenging your beliefs about sleep, and reprogramming your brain to sleep better.

Effective treatment takes only 4-6 sessions, held fortnightly, although you might choose to have more if you want to address any associated issues like anxiety or depression which are affecting your sleep.  You don't have to stop taking any sleep medication to undergo the therapy and the results are long lasting, if not permanent.  Sessions can be held face to face or online.

In the US and Canada, CBT-I is the preferred approach for insomnia even over medication.  The therapy was also showcased in the BBC documentary Daisy Maskell - Insomnia and Me.

CBT-I is suitable for almost anyone with clinical insomnia, although contraindicated for untreated sleep apnoea, seizures, bipolar and panic disorder.  A course of treatment costs £200 and can be paid for in advance or in four instalments of £50 each.  An initial consultation is required to establish your suitability for the therapy, which is at no extra charge.
